April is Earth Month! Why not take a study break and enjoy some of the amazing landscapes and wildlife this planet has to offer?

Through virtual experiences, we can witness some of the most remote places on Earth without leaving our homes, or disturbing these pristine habitats.

Below is a list of our top 5 virtual experiences for Earth Month.

1. Tour America’s National Parks

From the volcanoes of Hawaii to the world’s third-largest coral reef, this interactive journey takes you through the hidden world of the US National Parks system, through the eyes of experienced park rangers. There are five tours in total – see them all here!

2. Visit the world’s largest cave in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, Vietnam

The Hang Son Doong cave is so difficult to traverse, it was not fully explored during modern times until 2009, when it was discovered to be the largest cave in the world. National Geographic captured the cave and its surroundings in this interactive tour.

3. Experience wildlife live from around the world

Love animals? Spy on some nesting bald eagles, or see if you can spot an orca. Check out explore.org’s amazing collection of wildlife livecams and short documentaries from all over the world.

4. Fly through the Arctic in 360

The Arctic is a place that only a fraction of humans have ever visited. The Guardian’s Arctic 360 Tour is a glimpse into this unique world and the threats that face it. Remember to turn on HD and use your mouse to explore the 360 view (or use VR goggles if you have them).

5. Explore the world’s oceans in panorama

Approximately 2/3 of the Earth’s surface is made up of the ocean, yet it is out of sight and mind for many. Underwater Earth set out to change that by capturing the world below water through Google Streetview. The collection of over 1 million panoramic images includes the most comprehensive survey of coral reefs ever.
