Janice joined Mohawk College as a full time professor in 2005 after working in the advertising industry for 9 years. She spent her career at two of the largest global media planning agencies, MindShare and The Media Company (Mediacom) working on a variety of accounts such as IBM, Subway, LG Electronics, Kimberly-Clark, Mattel, and Sheraton Hotels. Janice stays on top of this ever-changing industry by freelancing at Toronto agencies during her summer vacation, doing planning, research and new business pitches. You will find Janice using her extensive planning experience in all forms of media in the business courses of the Advertising and Marketing Communications program.
During her time at Mohawk, Janice has had the honour of coaching students to several wins in industry competitions such as the CMA Student Awards and Nokia Student Competition. She prides herself on pushing students to learn to evaluate and improve their own work, which prepares them to “hit the ground running” when they start working in the industry. In the spring of 2020, Janice became the Program Coordinator for the Advertising and Marketing Communications Management program.
Janice is a graduate of York University with a Bachelor of Administrative Studies majoring in Marketing and graduated with a Master of Education at the University of Toronto OISE in 2009.
