Dr. David Wheeler is an internationally experienced academic with four decades of senior executive level involvement in sustainable development practice, research and teaching. He has been a University President, Dean of Management, Dean of Business and an endowed chair in Business and Sustainability.
He has advised numerous international agencies, including the World Health Organization, the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, governments in the Americas, Europe and Africa, civil society organizations and businesses.
David oversaw the establishment of two provincial energy efficiency agencies and designed the Canadian Climate Institute and Canadian Colleges for a Resilient Recovery. He has commissioned commercial wind farms in both the UK and Canada.
David has published more than 80 articles and book chapters in a wide variety of academic journals, books, parliamentary inquiries and popular journals including the British Medical Journal, the Journal of Business Ethics, and MIT Sloan Management Review.
He supervised major international development projects in twelve countries in Africa and Latin America and co-developed the DelAgua drinking water test kit which is now used by humanitarian agencies around the world. The invention won a national UK award and the device is still in production.
