Labs and Simulation Spaces
Diagnostic Sonography Lab
The Diagnostic Sonography Lab provides a realistic clinical environment where students can develop hands-on ultrasound skills. This space includes dedicated scanning bays and professional equipment, allowing learners to practice patient care, build confidence and prepare for real clinical placements.
Digital Creativity Centre
The Digital Creativity Centre (DCC), located in Room EA105 at the Fennell Campus, is a vibrant collaboration centre that provides access to bookable project rooms, technology, flexible spaces, and drop-in tech support.
Digital Print Learning Centre
The Digital Print Learning Centre provides students with access to printing, copying, scanning, and document support services to help meet their academic needs. Whether preparing assignments, presentations, projects, or course materials, students can use the centre for reliable and high-quality print services in a convenient campus location.
Digital Twin Observatory
The Digital Twin Observatory is a collaborative space at Mohawk College where teams can visualize and explore real‑time data through interactive digital models. This space is equipped with dynamic displays and analytics tools, the observatory supports planning, innovation, and evidence‑based decision‑making.
Dirty Room
Commonly referred to as the “Dirty Room,” this specialized workspace is designed for the fabrication and finishing of aircraft composite parts. It houses a CNC machine used to create molds and tooling essential for composite manufacturing. The room also accommodates grinding, sanding, and trimming operations, ensuring that all finishing tasks are performed in a controlled environment.
Drafting Lab
In the Drafting Lab, students develop the skills needed to read, create and interpret technical drawings used in the skilled trades. Working with industry-standard software and drafting tools, learners practice producing precise plans, layouts and schematics that reflect real construction and manufacturing requirements. The lab provides a hands-on environment where students refine their accuracy, attention to detail and understanding of design standards essential for success in trades and technical fields.
Early Childhood Education Lab
The Early Childhood Education Lab is a purpose-designed learning space where students develop hands-on skills essential to working with young children. Set up to reflect a real early learning environment, the lab allows students to practice planning and facilitating play-based activities, supporting child development, and creating inclusive, nurturing spaces that promote learning and well-being.
Electrical Circuits Lab
The core training ground for AC/DC circuit analysis. Students use oscilloscopes, function generators, and breadboards to build and troubleshoot fundamental electronic systems.
Electrical Lab
In this lab students complete projects that simulate typical work in residential, commercial or industrial settings. Students work on everything from wiring installations in a dwelling unit to motor control in a commercial setting to programming AC and DC drives that would be typical in industry.
