The sterile products lab is where students learn to prepare items that require a sterile environment, including IVs, syringes, chemotherapy drugs, and certain compounds.

Pneumatics Lab

Pneumatics and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) form a core function of the automated process within manufacturing. Students learn the application of relay logic and basic PLC programming, utilizing handheld units on multi-cylinder trainers, simulating a typical industrial application to automate a production process. They learn how to develop basic pneumatic schematics using standard ISO symbols, and assemble and troubleshoot the circuits using the schematics.

Gas Heat Technicians are responsible for measuring, cutting, reaming and threading steel pipes, fabricating tubing, and assembling and testing gas conveyance systems made from various materials.

Refrigeration Mechanics focus on assembling, testing, operating, troubleshooting and servicing a wide range of refrigeration systems. The expertise and hands-on experience gained in this lab extend beyond the industry, finding applications in many other fields as well.

Rotating Machines and Power Systems Lab

In the Rotating Machines and Power Systems Lab students engage in connection and analysis of AC and DC generating systems, as well as motors and motor control systems. They work with single and three-phase transformers, exploring the behaviour of inductive, capacitive and resistive loads. Additionally, students analyze and address power quality issues, gaining hands-on experience in diagnosing and correcting inefficiencies within electrical systems.
