Labs and Simulation Spaces
Power Engineering Lab
Power Engineers are responsible for the operation and maintenance of steam generation and refrigeration equipment across a diverse range of industries. These industries include steel and pulp mills, power generation, food production, healthcare institutions, oil and gas production, breweries and chemical manufacturing. Their expertise ensures the efficient and safe functioning of critical systems that support these vital sectors.
Reciprocating Engines Lab
A piston engine, also known as a reciprocating engine, uses heat from one or more reciprocating pistons to convert pressure into a rotating motion. This rotating motion turns the aircraft's propeller, allowing for flight.
Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Lab
This shop is a dedicated space where aspiring refrigeration and air conditioning apprentices gain hands-on experience that is linked to theory and knowledge they will use throughout their career. In this lab we train and prepare apprentices for the real-word challenges in our industry.
Refrigeration and Piping Lab
Gas Heat Technicians are responsible for measuring, cutting, reaming and threading steel pipes, fabricating tubing, and assembling and testing gas conveyance systems made from various materials.
Refrigeration Mechanics focus on assembling, testing, operating, troubleshooting and servicing a wide range of refrigeration systems. The expertise and hands-on experience gained in this lab extend beyond the industry, finding applications in many other fields as well.
Rotating Machines and Power Systems Lab
In the Rotating Machines and Power Systems Lab students engage in connection and analysis of AC and DC generating systems, as well as motors and motor control systems. They work with single and three-phase transformers, exploring the behaviour of inductive, capacitive and resistive loads. Additionally, students analyze and address power quality issues, gaining hands-on experience in diagnosing and correcting inefficiencies within electrical systems.

Sheet Metal Lab
In this shop students will learn everything from the fundamentals of sheet metal to advanced techniques, to ensure they are well-equipped for real-world challenges. Experience the complexities of sheet metal projects through realistic simulations that will prepare you for the demands of the job.
Sonography Simulation Lab
The Sonography Simulation Lab gives students the opportunity to practice ultrasound techniques in a safe and supportive learning environment. Using specialized equipment and guided simulations, learners can build confidence, develop scanning skills and prepare for real clinical experiences.
Steamfitting Lab
This shop is a dynamic learning hub where future steamfitters expand their knowledge and acquire specialized training to embark on rewarding careers. Steamfitters are the engineers behind the scenes, ensuring that steam, gas, and fluid systems run smoothly, from industrial power plants to state-of-the-art HVAC systems.
Stores
The Stores lab is where students learn about inventory management and parts identification from experienced faculty.
