The Student Life team is hiring student staff for the Fall 2026 semester at the IAHS, Stoney Creek and Fennell campuses. 

The application period is open May 15 - June 18. After a review of personalized cover letters and resumes, the team will contact successful applicants of round 1 by June 30  to be invited to an interview between July 3 - 17.

Position Summary:

The Student Life Ambassador is a dynamic student staff role that supports the mission of the Student Life Office by fostering student engagement, promoting campus resources, and creating meaningful opportunities for connection. Ambassadors represent Student Life at events, assist with program delivery, support outreach efforts, and contribute to the overall student experience at Mohawk College.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, promote, and execute student events, workshops, and activities
  • Represent Student Life at campus fairs, outreach booths, and tours
  • Assist with day-to-day departmental operations such as scheduling, inventory, and organizing space
  • Support communications efforts by creating content for social media and promotional materials
  • Assist with specific program portfolios such as First Year Experience, Orientation, and co-curricular learning
  • Provide peer support and guidance to students engaging with Student Life programs and services

Sample Tasks:

  • Host a weekly social drop-in event in the Student Life space
  • With the guidance of Student Life staff, design, promote, execute and facilitate First Year Experience workshops and engagement opportunities
  • Lead a group of prospective students on a campus tour
  • Track attendance and create a post-event report for a leadership event
  • Create a Canva poster to promote an upcoming orientation event
  • With the guidance of Student Life staff, facilitate a workshop presentation about the Co-Curricular Record (CCR)
  • Set up and staff a booth during Welcome Back Week
  • Organize and tidy the Student Life storage and promotional materials closet
