Leadership can start anywhere.
You don't need a title, previous experience, or formal training to be a student leader. Your leadership journey might begin by volunteering at an event, attending a workshop, helping welcome new students, or simply putting your hand up to get involved.
At Mohawk, every student has something to contribute. Through MoCrew, students can build confidence, develop leadership skills, connect with others, and take on new opportunities at their own pace.
MoCrew is not about hierarchy or titles. It is a community of students with different experiences, strengths, and perspectives who learn from one another and contribute to campus life in different ways.
As you take part in leadership experiences, you will have opportunities to reflect on what you have learned, recognize the skills you are developing, and continue building your own leadership story.
Every student leader is MoCrew, and every MoCrew member has something valuable to contribute to the Mohawk community.
Grow as a Leader, Your Way
Leadership at Mohawk is about discovering your strengths, building meaningful relationships, and making a positive impact in your community.
Through MoCrew, students can take part in workshops, programs, volunteer experiences, and other opportunities designed to help them grow as leaders throughout their time at Mohawk.
Our approach is built around three areas of leadership development:

Honouring Identity
Understand your strengths, values, experiences, and the perspectives you bring to your leadership.

Navigating Relationships
Build the communication, teamwork, and relationship skills needed to work effectively with others.

Serving Community
Explore how your leadership can contribute to a stronger, more connected Mohawk community and beyond.
These three areas are woven into MoCrew experiences to help students reflect on what they are learning, build confidence through change and transition, and recognize how their leadership continues to develop over time.
Most importantly, MoCrew is a community where students are encouraged to show up as themselves, learn from one another, and contribute in ways that are meaningful to them.
