Labs and Simulation Spaces
Activities of Daily Living
Recognizing that healthcare-specific experiential learning transcends the bedside of a hospital/clinic environment, the CHSR has two apartment-styled spaces that afford learners the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills within a home-care setting. Learners can help simulated participants navigate their ADLs in the kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedroom- to allow for a broader range of preparation within community/residential healthcare.
Additive Manufacturing Innovation Centre
The Additive Manufacturing Innovation Centre is a specialized facility focused on advanced 3D printing and additive manufacturing technologies. It supports applied learning, research, and industry collaboration by enabling students to design, produce, and test complex components using cutting-edge equipment. The centre helps develop job-ready skills for careers in advanced manufacturing and emerging technologies.

Autobody Shop
In this shop, autobody collision and refinishing technicians repair and restore damaged motor vehicle body parts and interiors. They repaint body surfaces, repair and replace automotive glass as well as repair defective automobile body parts and damage to the bodies of newly assembled cars. Estimators assess the degree of damage to a vehicle and the cost of parts and labour.
AutoCad Lab
The AutoCAD Lab supports hands-on learning in computer-aided design and drafting. Students develop technical drawing, modeling, and documentation skills using industry-standard AutoCAD software. Through practical projects, the lab prepares students to produce accurate designs used in engineering, architecture, and manufacturing environments.
Automation Lab
The Automation Lab provides hands-on experience with automated systems used in modern industrial environments. Students learn to program, operate, and troubleshoot equipment such as PLCs, sensors, and control systems. Through applied, project-based learning, the lab builds practical skills for careers in automation, manufacturing, and industrial technology.
Automotive Shop
The automotive shop is a fully equipped, modern training space where students learn to diagnose, repair, and maintain today's complex vehicles. Featuring industry-standard tools, lifts, and diagnostic technology, the shop is a hands-on learning hub.
Aviation Structures Lab
In this lab students from all three aviation technician programs-Aircraft Maintenance Aircraft Structures and Avionics Maintenance-learn the hand skills required to maintain and repair aircraft metal structure. The skills taught in this lab prepare students to work in all areas of aviation: aircraft manufacturing, aircraft repair and overhaul.
Avionics classroom
Avionics include the many electronic components used for communications, navigation and the display and management of multiple aircraft systems and functions—everything from a simple searchlight for a police helicopter to a complicated tactical system for an airborne early warning platform.
Building and Construction Sciences Lab
This is a hands-on learning space where students gain practical experience with the materials, methods and technologies used in today's construction industry. The lab supports programs across building sciences, construction management and skilled trades.
