Carla LaBella (she/her) is a Professor of Psychology in the School of Liberal Studies at Mohawk College. She teaches a variety of psychology-related courses (including Introductory Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Positive Psychology and Human Sexuality) to various programs within the College and to the Collaborative Nursing (BScN) program at the IAHS campus, McMaster University. She is the co-facilitator and co-founder of the Happiness (Wellness) Series for students and staff, and she offers a number of wellness sessions throughout the College and in the greater Hamilton community.

Outside the College, she is a board member for the Suicide Prevention Community Council of Hamilton (SPCCH) and the Hamilton Program for Schizophrenia (HPS). She obtained her Honours BA in Psychology from McMaster University (1997) and MA in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Waterloo (2000). In 2014, she obtained a Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology (CAPP) from the Flourishing Center. More recently, she became a Modo Yoga teacher (Level 1 – 200hr Teacher Training) in 2022 and a Unified Mindfulness Coach (Pathways for Teaching Mindfulness, Foundations of UM) in 2021. Aside from being a teacher, she is a yoga-enthusiast, avid non-fiction reader, a mom to two active boys, and a partner to her husband.
