Robert Nowell is a Canadian award winning photographer who started his photography business over thirty years ago. He's a full-time professor in the Photography Still and Motion program at Mohawk College.
Robert has served as a chair of the Professional Photographers of Canada - Ontario and of the Hamilton Niagara Branch of PPOC.
Robert is a co founder and director of Sprout Studio, a studio management software for photographers. He is also co host of the popular podcast, The Business of Photography. He is formally trained in photography and holds a Photography Diploma from Fanshawe College. In the first phase of his career he was primarily a commercial photographer with clients such as US Energy, Johnson Mathey, Proctor and Gamble, World Vision Canada, StateFarm Canada, Iona Appliances, Great Gulf Homes and many more.
Over the years, Robert has managed a staff of four with a studio of 3400 sq feet to his present studio attached to his home where he has streamlined his workflow to work solo.
Over the years, Robert has photographed just over one thousand weddings but these days his studio focuses more on headshots and portraits. Robert has photographed some music legends such as Phil Collins and Daryl Hall, broadway star Louise Pitrie and Remigio Pereira of "The Tenors".
Robert is confidant that great things lie ahead for photography professionals and is grateful for the opportunities he's been given to contribute back to the industry.
