Shantal Woolsey is a Communications Professor and Curriculum Development Specialist (secondment) at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario. Her professional and academic research interests focus on blended and online education.

She was previously seconded to lead the implementation of the Academic Plan through the execution of key strategic projects focusing on technology in higher education (e.g. Digital Skills Toolkit). Shantal co-created the Plagiarism Tutorial, and she received the college Award of Excellence for her work with the ePortfolio team and the iPad project team. She published a study on "Learning and Experiential Outcomes of Face-to-Face Versus Online Communications Courses" and a chapter in "Critical Issues in Higher Education" on "Quality and Sustainability Concerns for Online Course Offerings in Higher Education", and was featured in the Contact North article "Implementing Blended Learning in Language Studies at Mohawk College". Shantal is currently seconded to the Centre for Teaching & Learning to work with individual faculty and curriculum teams as they address the need for new and improved courses and programs.
