VR Welding Lab

In the VR Welding Lab students practice welding in a safe, risk-free environment. Students are able to try different types of welds, positions, material and even oxy-fuel cutting on a realistic job site. The weld can be manipulated with the same precision as welding in a shop or on a jobsite. This lab is built to give students the confidence they need to be successful before they step into the shop.

Welding equipment found in the Welding Shop at Mohawk College's Stoney Creek Campus for Skilled Trades.

Welding Shop

In this shop students work on various materials you would find on any construction site in Canada. Welding and fabrication is an essential part to any construction project. Students weld using processes that are standard in industry today, such as SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and GTAW. Students are prepared for all position welding with these processes and welding on pipe. With our fabrication equipment, students use raw materials and build projects that are used everyday in industry such as I-beam fabrications, bending and building reservoirs to scale, hand rail and small scale piping projects.
