Labs and Simulation Spaces
Gas & Oil Burner Lab
Gas Heat Technicians are responsible for operating, troubleshooting and maintaining a diverse range of natural gas and propane appliances within the gas & oil burner lab. This role ensures that all equipment is properly serviced, restored and maintained to operate at optimal efficiency and in full compliance with safety standards.
GM Service Training
In the GM Service Training Lab students gain hands-on experience using the same tools, technology and diagnostic equipment found in modern dealerships. The lab simulates a real GM service environment, allowing learners to work on late-model vehicles, troubleshoot complex automotive systems and practice industry-standard repair procedures.
HVAC Electrical Lab
Gas Heat and Oil Heat Technicians are trained to build, test, troubleshoot and operate electrical control circuits designed to ensure the safe and efficient operation of fuel-powered heating systems. The skills developed in this lab are not only applicable to other lab settings but also directly relevant to real-world applications in the industry.
Hydraulics Lab
This lab introduces the principles of industrial hydraulics, including the design and application of power units, pumps, motors, conductors and fluids. Utilizing fluid power equipment, our students have the opportunity to do lab experiments with typical valving and accessories found in industry today. With a variety of applications, hydraulic systems are used in all kinds of large and small industrial settings, as well as buildings, construction equipment, and vehicles.
Industrial Mechanic Millwrights Lab
Industrial Mechanic Millwrights work on industrial machinery, mechanical equipment and components. Our students work with a variety of equipment commonly found in heavy industries, including gearboxes, conveyors, compressors, piping systems and hoisting and rigging equipment. Using precision tools such as laser alignment equipment, dial indicators, micrometers and precision and optical levels, students develop practical skills for alignments and equipment setting commonly seen in the field.
Instrumentation & Control Lab
In the Instrumentation and Control Lab students are taught how to install, maintain, calibrate, design and troubleshoot networking systems, process control equipment and environmental protection systems for a wide range of industrial applications.
Machine Shop
General Machinists cut, shape and finish metal to produce precision machined parts and components used in all areas of manufacturing. Our students interpret engineering drawings (blueprints) and work process documents to set up machine lathes and mills to create precision machined parts and components. This process is carried out in tandem with measuring or inspecting work-in-progress using specialized precision tools and equipment
Monitoring & Communications Lab
In the Monitoring and Communications Lab students receive training on the installation and maintenance of various systems, including fire alarm systems, emergency nurse call equipment, access control, industrial and residential security systems, as well as home automation technologies. This hands-on education prepares students to meet the diverse needs of modern electrical systems and enhances their expertise in ensuring safety and efficiency in various environments.
Oil Lab
Oil Heat Technicians specialize in the operating, troubleshooting and servicing of a variety oil-fired appliances within our oil lab. They are dedicated to restoring and maintaining equipment to ensure optimal efficiency and safe operating conditions. This hands-on experience equips technicians with the skills necessary to excel in the oil heating industry.
