Makerspace Request Form

Service Update: All of the functions of this form have been migrated to Zendesk.

The Makerspace is open to all students for academic projects only. Certain tools are available exclusively to trained staff. To ensure your project can be accommodated, please avoid last-minute submissions. Ample lead time is especially important for larger projects.

The Makerspace is designed for hands-on learning, not just as a service provider. While staff are available to assist, the responsibility for completing the project rests with the requester.

Laser Cutting/Engraving Request
Laser Materials Choice
I acknowledge that all materials that will be put into the laser cutter/engraver must be approved by Makerspace staff, and that all of the below statements are true about my material.

  • My material is not made of PVC
  • My material is not thicker than 6mm (cutting only)
If you are unsure if your material is suitable, please bring in a sample to test before committing to a large project.

UV Printing Request
UV Materials Choice
I acknowledge that all substrates to be used in the UV printer must be approved by Makerspace staff, and that all of the below statements are true about my substrate.

  • My substrate is less than 20" (width) x 13" (depth) x 4" (height)
  • My substrate is flat
Examples include canvas, acrylic, or sheet metal. If you are unsure if your material is suitable, please bring in a sample to test before committing to a large project.

Not seeing what you are looking for? We have many other machines and processes available on-demand, no appointment required! You can come in and use the following any time that we are open:

  • Airbrushing / Painting Equipment
    • We will show you how to prep your surface and use it
    • No charge for paint or for the use of the machine
  • T-Shirt Press
    • Bring your own shirts, hoodies, pants, or other garments
    • No charge for use of the press
    • Heats up to 350°C for adhering heat-transfer vinyl decals to shirts
    • Pretty good at ironing out wrinkles
  • Calipers, Tape measure, Protractor, Compass, etc.
    • All the basic measuring equipment you could ever need for constructing a physical object
    • No charge for its use
