Why did Mohawk College join the MyCreds™ network?

MyCreds™ will allow students to access your documents 24/7, reduce the turnaround time receiving documents, give the ability to share documents, and ensure documents are provided that are authentic, tamper-evident, and legally valid.

What documents will be issued through the MyCreds™ network?

Mohawk College will be taking a phased approach to the documents that will be issued via the MyCreds™ network. As of January 2023, credentials are only available for Full-Time Post-secondary Program, Apprenticeship, and CE students who graduated in October, 2022 to present. Credentials will continue to be released in MyCreds™ following convocation ceremonies in February, June, and October of each year. As other services are added, information on availability and any associated fee(s) will be provided.

How does this benefit students and graduates of Mohawk College?

All of your documents will be available in one secure location for you to access and share with whomever you wish to share the documents with. MyCreds™ allows you to have access to your documents 24/7.

Will there be a cost to have a document issued?

There is no cost in accessing credentials issued in October 2022 to present.  As other services are added, information on any associated fee will be provided.

Documents are issued via the platform and stored securely in MyCreds™. Your data remains under the control of Mohawk College and this information can only be accessed by you, Mohawk College, and with whomever you chose to share your documents.

The underlying platform has been independently tested by security experts. All certified documents carry a digital signature that meets the legal standards set by the European Union for authentic electronic documents, which meets and exceeds requirements in Australia, New Zealand, and North America.

How will the receiver of my document know the document is authentic?

a blue ribbon that says certified

All certified documents carry a digital signature that meets the legal standards set by the European Union for authentic electronic documents, which meets and exceeds requirements in Australia, New Zealand, and North America.

An authentic document will always have a blue-ribbon symbol that validates that the document has not been altered after it has been downloaded.

If a document has been altered or if the digital signature is not authentic, a symbol with a red cross will signify the document is not valid.
