Mentor application

Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer mentor with the Mohawk College-YMCA Newcomer Mentorship Program.

Mentors and mentees are matched based on self-identified areas of strength, education, work experience and career goals. Through confidential, one-on-one conversations (or, with the mentor’s consent, a small group if a one-to-one match is not available), the mentor will help the mentee set clear development goals and, with guidance and coaching, empower the mentee to achieve their potential.

While Mohawk College staff work hard to make an appropriate match between mentors and mentees, a match is not guaranteed and depends on the number of students participating in the program and their interests.

We will provide detailed guidelines, including expectations, and support documentation to all mentors.
