Testing Centre Guidelines
• Students should arrive approximately 10-15 minutes prior to their scheduled test/exam start time.
• Students arriving late may not be able to write their test depending on availability and must obtain permission from their instructor. If a late start is permitted, students may not receive their full amount of time.
• Students writing in the Testing Centre will be required to show photo ID at every appointment.
• Students must supply their own pens, pencils and calculators (if permitted).
• Only authorized materials will be permitted at student workstation.
• Memory Aids/Formula sheets must be approved and provided to the Testing Centre, by the instructor prior to your appointment.
• Electronic devices of any kind will not be permitted on the student’s workstation. Cell phones, watches, iPods and other devices will be required to be turned off and stored in the designated area.
• All personal belongings must be left in the storage area provided including pencil cases, purses, backpacks, coats, papers, notes and/or books.
• Please do not bring valuables into the testing room. Mohawk College is not responsible for
lost/stolen items.
• No food or drink is allowed in the examination room.
• During a test/exam, students can only communicate with Testing Centre staff. The staff cannot give any guidance or answer questions regarding test/exam content.
• In case of emergency (fire alarm, lockdown), students are to follow the instructions of the Testing Centre staff.
• All testing materials, including scrap paper, must be turned into the exam invigilator.
Student Behavior Expectations
• Respect the need for a quiet environment. No talking is permitted once the student has entered the examination room.
• Students are expected to comply with Mohawk College’s Student Behaviour Policy.
• Mohawk College is committed to establishing and maintaining a learning and working community that is safe and respectful for students and employees.
• Inappropriate language, raised voices, disrespect and intimidation will not be tolerated in the Testing Centre.
• Students are expected to comply with instructions given to them by the Testing Centre invigilators and/or staff prior, during, and after testing while in the Centre.
• Students are expected to comply with Mohawk College’s Academic Integrity Policy.
• If a student is found in possession or accessing any unauthorized material or devices during their test, their test/exam will end. The instructor will be notified of the academic integrity violation.
