Makerspace Projects

Disclaimer & Guidelines for Project Submission

The Makerspace is open to all students, however certain tools can only be used by trained staff members. It is required that project submissions are not last minute as we might not be able to facilitate your project. Depending on the scope of the project providing as much lead time as possible is required.

The Makerspace is not a place to simply put in an order and walk away - the intent of the Makerspace is for students, staff and faculty to engage the technology and learn new techniques. This means that our staff can aid in your project, but we will not carry it out for you. That is the requester’s responsibility.

Makerspace Equipment

3D Printer (Extrusion)

3D Printer Extrusion

Extrusion 3D printers are similar to a hot glue gun. The printer keeps building layer upon layer to create the desired object. There are various types and colours of filament to achieve your goals!

3D Printer (Resin)

3D Printer Resin

Resin printer material starts as a liquid and is light sensitive. A screen inside of the printer acts like a photocopier and shines light through the screen hardening the resin. Resin printers afford a higher resolution but less durability than PLA printers.
