Monthly Permits

Staff and Faculty

Full time and part time monthly parking passes will continue to be available for staff and faculty. 

Staff and Faculty that previously held a parking permit:

Staff/ faculty that have not resumed their parking permit since the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic but will be returning to campus in the near future, can opt to reinstate their permit on a full time or part time basis for the lot they parked in previously. 

Staff and faculty that may not need their parking permit reinstated for the Spring/Summer term can continue to put it in hold. 

Staff and Faculty that never held a parking permit:

Staff and faculty members who did not hold a parking pass previously can apply online for a parking pass in the Ward Avenue lot. Both full-time and part-time passes are available. A part-time pass provides twelve visits to campus every month.

Staff and Faculty that currently hold an active parking permit:

No action is required on your part if you will continue to park on campus.

Full time and part time parking permit options will continue to be available. 

Students

Full time monthly parking passes for Lot M will continue to be available for students during the Spring/Summer term and can be purchased online. Students can purchase on a monthly or term basis. Information on when the Fall 2022 Lot M permits will go on sale will be provided in June 2022

Inter-zone Hours

Staff and Faculty full time permits

Access to Lots, B, C, D, G, H, I, K, Q and Underground Stadium between the hours of 4:00 PM and 6:30 AM.

24/7 access to Lot N and P will continue to be available to Ward permit holder through the summer and spring terms. 

Staff and Faculty part time permits

Part time permits will be available for all lots and will have the same interzone as full time permits. 

Students

Access to Lots, B, C, D, H, and I between the hours of 4:00 pm and 6:30 am

Shuttle bus

The shuttle bus will run from 6:30 am to 7 pm Monday to Friday. There will be no service available on weekends.   

Contractors

Parking Lots Options after May 1st 2022

All external companies working on projects at the University have the option to purchase or renew a Ward Ave permit. The Ward Ave permit will provide access to B, C, D, G, H, I, K, Q and Underground Stadium between the hours of 4 pm and 5 am and 24/7 access to Lot P. The cost of this permit is $54 per month.  To set up a Ward Ave permit, please email parking [at] mcmaster.ca (  )

OR

If you require access to parking lots other than those mentioned above, a commercial main campus permit can be requested. This permit will only be provided for vehicles being used by your employees. To request a commercial permit, please have the McMaster Design and Construction Project Manager Email: afzala2 [at] mcmaster.ca

The cost of this permit is $114 per month

Daily Visitor parking rates

The start time for the daytime daily rate will be changed from 7:30 am to 6:30 am as of May 1st 2022 to align with the shuttle bus times and interzone hours.

Airport Campus Parking »

Paid Parking is required at the Mohawk Centre for Aviation Technology.

  • Beginning September 1, 2021 paid parking will be enforced at the Mohawk Centre for Aviation Technology at the Hamilton Airport.
  • Students and employees will be required to purchase a permit online.
  • You will then be sent a physical permit that must be displayed in your vehicle. The physical permit only needs to be displayed while parking at the Centre for Aviation Technology.

Which permit should I buy?

HONK Flexpass/MultiPack

Flexpass/MultiPack are 5 or 10 visit permits that are purchased up front and activated as needed. Flexpass/MultiPack are only available for purchase on the Honk app or website and are valid only for the Semester they are purchased during. Once purchased, Flexpass/MultiPack are non-refundable or transferable.

How to purchase a Flexpass/MultiPack

In the Honk App or website:

  1. Search by Address – Mohawk College Campus
  2. Select Long Term Parking and Search
  3. Select the MultiPack from the list and complete payment and checkout details

How to use MultiPack

Once the initial MultiPack has been purchased in your Honk account, each time you come to campus, you can redeem a pass from the Sessions page in your account: 

  1. Navigate to the ‘Sessions’ page in your account
  2. Click on your MultiPack session
  3. On the MultiPack session page, tap the “Redeem” button.  You will be directed to the zone page. 
  4. Select a rate and finish checking out. 
  5. You’re done!

Anyone bringing a vehicle to campus will be required to register their vehicle with Parking Services through the college’s online parking payment site.

Parking Information for Staff

Effective September 1, 2021, paid parking and enforcement will resume at all Mohawk College campuses.

Employees who had preferred permits at the time of the college-wide shutdown in March 2020 will retain their preferred status for 2021-2022.

Staff Permits will be available for purchase beginning August 9, 2021 at 10:00am through Parking Service.

If you had a preferred permit at the time the college shutdown in March 2020, you will not lose your preferred status in 2021-2022, regardless of whether you purchase an annual permit or not.

Your transponder will continue to work and you will have the option to purchase Preferred Daily, Preferred Semester or Annual Preferred permits. Flexible daily preferred permits can be purchased through the HONK mobile app. Employees with P4 parking permits in 2020 will be able to use the P1 and P2 preferred lots.

Anyone bringing a vehicle to campus will be required to register their vehicle with Parking Services through the college’s online parking payment site. Please select the student or staff permit option and login using your MyMohawk credentials to continue.
