Students are encouraged to apply before receiving their Mohawk College acceptance, as Residence applications can be cancelled and acceptances can be turned down for a full refund.
A non-refundable $100 application fee is required to complete each application.
Fennell Residence is located on the Mohawk College Fennell campus. There is no residence available for the Stoney Creek or IAHS campuses. Please note where your classes will take place before arranging for housing.
Application Opening Dates
Applications open separately for each term as follows:
- Academic Year 2026-2027 (September – April): February 2, 2026
- Summer 2026 (May – August): February 2, 2026
- Winter 2027 (January – April): October 1, 2026

New Students - Begin Your Application
Before completing your application, be sure to note which payment option (review Residence Rates) and mandatory Meal Plan you will choose.
- Create a profile on My Housing Portal.
- Once you have created a profile and are logged into My Housing Portal you can create an application by selecting “Application” from the blue bar near the top of the page and selecting “Mohawk New Resident” with the appropriate term.
- Follow the prompts to complete filling in all details.
- When you arrive at the payment step, you will be prompted to complete payment offline via bill payment or online through Flywire (international students). Please see available payment methods on the Residence Rates page.
- Once payment is finalized, your application is complete. You will now wait for an e-mail indicating your acceptance or waitlist position (depending on when you apply, this may take a few months).
Please note: applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Returning Student Applications
Current residents wishing to return/remain in Residence are provided an opportunity to have their application fee waived as long as they apply by the deadline.
