Residence Meal Plan

About Meal Plans

As a student living in residence, your Mohawk ONE Card provides you with flexibility and savings when making meal purchases on and off campus.

A Meal Plan is mandatory for all students living in Fennell Residence September to April (not available during summer), and may be used at Mo's Restaurant located on the first floor of the building.

Your ONE Card is your meal plan and your student ID. The card will automatically be loaded with your chosen Meal Plan and works on a declining balance system.

Please visit the Mohawk College Meal Plan FAQ page for more information:

Meal Plan Benefits

The Meal Plan eliminates the need to shop for, prepare, and clean up after meals, allowing students to focus their time on studying, making friends, and becoming a part of the Mohawk College community.

Savings - The Meal Plans will save you money. Meals purchased using your Meal Plan are tax free so you can save up to 13% on applicable purchases on campus

Convenience - You can use your ONE Card for purchases on campus, so you never have to worry about carrying cash

Security - If your ONE Card is missing or lost, you can quickly deactivate your card online and then contact the ONE Card office to obtain a replacement

Meal Plan Options

The choice of Meal Plan is made during the residence application process. Mohawk College Residence will collect the Meal Plan fees on behalf of Mohawk College.

The Meal Plan works through a declining-balance system on your ONE Card. Students may choose a suitable Meal Plan from four different Meal Plan amounts.

The Meal Plan you choose assigns a large amount of money to “Meal Plan” dollars and a smaller amount to “Meal Flex” dollars. The difference between these options are the locations where you can spend that amount.

  • “Meal Plan” dollars are spent at the campus run, on-campus locations (this includes Mo’s Restaurant located inside Fennell Residence).
  • “Meal Flex” dollars are spent at specific off-campus locations, or on-campus locations run by the MSA.

Dietary Accommodations

Menu options across campus meet most needs, however, if you require a specialty diet, we can work together to create a menu to meet your needs. If you would like to connect with someone to discuss how we can accommodate your dietary needs on campus, please complete the Meal Plan Accommodations Request Form and the Residence General Manager will follow up.

Meal Plan/ONE Card Terms & Conditions

Meals may be purchased only by and for the Meal Plan holder

For each transaction the cashier will examine the photo on the ONE Card to ensure that the person making the purchase is the ONE Card holder. In all cases where the cashier suspects that somebody is using a ONE Card other than the cardholder, the cashier must keep the ONE Card and prevent its use.

The security of a ONE Card remains the cardholder's responsibility. ONE Card's should be treated like a credit or debit card. If a ONE Card is lost or stolen, the cardholder is responsible for all charges made to that card until the card is reported lost or stolen.

Refunds

Residence Meal Plans are non-refundable unless the student withdraws from Mohawk College completely.

  • Refunds will be prorated based on the number of days remaining or the remaining balance on your Meal Plan, whichever is lower.
  • Refunds due to withdrawal, or of funds added to the mandatory Meal Plan are subject to an administrative fee of $50.
  • The Residence Meal Plan is non-transferable and expires the day after the April move-out day.
