Residence Meal Plan

About Meal Plans

As a student living in residence, your Mohawk ONE Card provides you with flexibility and savings when making meal purchases on and off campus.

A Meal Plan is mandatory for all students living in Residence between September and April (not available during the Summer).

Your ONE Card is your meal plan and your student ID. The card will automatically be loaded with your chosen Meal Plan and works on a declining balance system.

Please visit the Mohawk College Meal Plan FAQ page for more information.

Meal Plan Benefits

The Meal Plan eliminates the need to shop for, prepare, and clean up after meals, allowing students to focus their time on studying, making friends, and becoming a part of the Mohawk College community.

Savings - The Meal Plans will save you money. Meals purchased using your Meal Plan are tax free so you can save up to 13% on applicable purchases on campus

Convenience - You can use your ONE Card for purchases on campus, so you never have to worry about carrying cash

Security - If your ONE Card is missing or lost, you can quickly deactivate your card online and then contact the ONE Card office to obtain a replacement

Meal Plan Options

The choice of Meal Plan is made during the residence application process. Mohawk College Residence will collect the Meal Plan fees on behalf of Mohawk College.

The Meal Plan works through a declining-balance system on your ONE Card. Students may choose a suitable Meal Plan from four different Meal Plan amounts.

The Meal Plan you choose assigns a large amount of money to “Meal Plan funds” and a smaller amount to “Flex dollars” The difference between these options are the locations where you can spend that amount. IMPORTANT: most Food Services that accept Meal Plan funds are located on the Fennell Campus.

  • “Meal Plan” funds are spent primarily at the Fennell Campus. This includes Mo’s Restaurant located inside the Residence and other restaurants inside the Fennell Campus.
  • “Flex dollars” are spent at specific on-campus and off-campus locations. For more information, check out the section “Meal Plan Locations” below.

Meal Plan Locations

Mohawk College offers several food options for students. You can find the complete list of available restaurants at Food Services | Mohawk College (opens in new tab).

When selecting your Meal Plan, it is important to consider that not all locations will accept Meal Plan funds. You will likely use your meal plan funds at Mo's Restaurant, located conveniently inside the Residence and open breakfast to dinner. Additionally, you can find the list of all locations that accept meal plan funds at Dine On Campus at Mohawk College || Locations (opens in new tab).

Any locations not listed at Dine On Campus, such as Booster Juice (DBARC) or the Airport Cafe, will only accept flex dollars, the smaller portion of your Meal Plan.

For more information on how Meal Plan Funds and Flex Dollars are allocated, please see the "Meal Plan Options" section above. If you have any questions regarding your Meal Plan, please connect with us at info [at] mohawkresidence.ca (info[at]mohawkresidence[dot]ca).

Dietary Accommodations

While some dietary options are available on campus, they may not meet all needs or be included in your Meal Plan. If you follow a specific diet — such as vegetarian, vegan, halal, or have medical or cultural dietary requirements — we encourage you to reach out so we can help determine the best arrangements for you. Please complete the Meal Plan Accommodations Request Form and the Residence General Manager will follow up to discuss your options.
