What Is a Student Success Advisor?
Student Success Advisors support you throughout your academic journey by helping you:
- Navigate academic challenges
- Build or adjust your academic plan
- Understand academic policies, processes, and program requirements
- Review your progress in My Academic Progress (MAP)
- Connect with supports and services across the college
My Academic Progress (MAP) shows your completed, current, and missing courses, prerequisites, and GPA. Your SSA can help you understand what this information means for your academic plan and next steps.
Your Student Success Advisor is a key partner in helping you make informed decisions and stay on track.
When Should I Contact Student Success Advising?
You don’t have to wait until something goes wrong. Student Success Advisors are here to support you at any stage of your academic journey.
You should reach out if you:
- Have questions about your program progress
- Are missing courses or unsure about your academic plan
- Are thinking about dropping a course or withdrawing from your program
- Have received an academic status such as Probation or Promote with Advice
- Need help understanding academic policies or processes
- Are facing personal, academic, or other challenges that are affecting your success
