Manager, Indigenous Education

Leah has worked at Mohawk College for over 12 years, primarily supporting Indigenous learners navigating college policies and advocating on their behalf. Leah’s passion for Indigenous education has supported her faculty work within both Dual Credit and City School programming. As a lifelong learner, her education journey includes a 3-year business administration diploma, Honours Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Education and a Masters of Education, specializing in Indigenous education from Queen’s University.

In her role, Leah provides administrative supports related to the operational activities of all Indigenous programs and courses at Mohawk College. Working closely with Six Nations Polytechnic and Ogwehoweh Skills and Trades Training Centre, she supports the delivery of community-based Indigenous programs and provides Indigenous learners greater access and pathways to Postsecondary certificates and diploma programs. Through collaboration with IESS, Leah works to ensure that Indigenous students have access to culturally responsive and traditionally based student services that contribute to each individual learner’s success at Mohawk College.
