Gender-Based Violence Intervention Training 

This training session is aimed at generating discussion around the different forms of gender-based and sexual violence that is present on campus and within our community. Participants will learn about: 

  • Consent, gender-based violence, sexual violence and rape culture; including myths and facts about these topics;
  • The steps in responding to a disclosure of gender-based violence;
  • Intervention skills and strategies to disrupt situations of gendered violence; 
  • Characteristics of healthy relationships versus hurtful ones; 
  • Resources for those who have been affected by gender-based violence.

Male Allyship Training

This training session is aimed at unpacking the impact of gender-based and sexual violence and the importance of male allyship in preventing and eradicating this form of violence. Participants are engaged in conversations surrounding:

  • Toxic vs. healthy masculinity;
  • The key role that male identified folks play in the fight against gender-based violence;
  • Consent, gender-based violence, sexual violence and rape culture; including myths and facts about these topics;
  • Intervention skills and strategies to disrupt situations of gendered violence; 

This training is in partnership with White Ribbon, a male engagement organization out of Toronto.
