Community Involvement Award

The Community Involvement Award is presented to a student who demonstrates active participation within the Aboriginal community to promote and inspire our people.

Dr. Sam Mitminger Award

Presented to: Victoria Hall


The highest honour in Mohawk athletics is the Dr. Sam Mitminger Award named after a former president. The award goes to the athlete, in his or her graduating year, who achieves excellence in both academics and athletics

International Student Scholarship of Excellence Award

Presented to: Hye Min Kim


Presented to a full-time international student who is registered in their second or third year of postsecondary studies. Student must have completed their first year of full-time studies with a minimum average of 75%, with no failures or withdrawals. The student must also have participated in activities that have made a contribution to other students, International Education Services or another Mohawk College department.

Joe Marko Award (Co-Ed)

The Joe Marko Merit Awards are awarded to select individuals who demonstrate sportsmanship, enthusiasm, leadership and understand the spirit of participating with other students. These students are
leaders in the Mohawk recreation programming.

Awarded to the student who has made a significant contribution to the spirit and energy at Mohawk College. This student has demonstrated the ability to influence the college community with enthusiasm, positivity, energy and the ability to motivate other students to be involved.

P.A.S.S Leader Award

Modelling exemplary student behaviour, Peer-Assisted Study Session (P.A.S.S) Leaders are responsible for the facilitation of group study sessions to promote the success of students in targeted first-year courses. This award is earned by a P.A.S.S Leader who exemplifies strong communication, collaboration and responsible citizenship skills while promoting student success at Mohawk College.

Peer Tutor Award

The position of Peer Tutor requires a model student who is dedicated to helping their peers succeed in college by providing tailored one-on-one and small group tutoring. This award is earned by a tutor who exemplifies strong communication, collaboration and responsible citizenship skills while assisting students in their studies at Mohawk College.

Perseverance Award

The Perseverance Award is presented to a student who has demonstrated commitment, pride, and a positive attitude in pursuit of their post-secondary education despite obstacles.

President's International Award

Presented to an international student in their final year with the highest GPA over combined years at Mohawk College.

Sara Smith Award

The Sara Smith Award is presented to a student who demonstrates strong overall success in
academic, personal and community involvement.

Awarded to the student who has made a significant contribution in diversity and inclusion in the Mohawk Community. A students’ whose demonstrable efforts foster greater appreciation, advancement and celebration of diversity and inclusiveness in the college community environment.

Vice President's International Scholarship Award

Presented to: Wenyan Zou


Presented to an international student who has a minimum 70% GPA and demonstrated a positive contribution to College life and the community. The international student has set high standards and is an ambassador to other students, as well, has the characteristics of being a high academic achiever and team player. The international student has exhibited dedication to their studies.
