Off-Campus Housing Complaints

If you would like to make a complaint regarding a landlord or tenant, please submit an inquiry to the Off-Campus Housing Complaint Form page. These complaints are kept on file, however, we urge you to contact the Landlord & Tenant Boardwho work to resolve issues between residential landlords and tenants.

Financing Your Housing: What Are The Options?

Living at Home:

Living at home could be a great, cheap option if you live in the area! Remember to consider things like your commute and parking costs if this is an option that you’d like to consider.

Living in Residence

Residence is another option that provides you with the best opportunity to immerse yourself in college life. Living on campus means that you’re steps everything you need school-wise! This means more time for study and student activities. Check out the Residence page. 

Renting Off-Campus

Renting off campus is another great option, especially if you can’t afford to live in residence. Keep in mind things like your commute and parking costs, rent and utilities, and roommate negotiations. Mohawk provides lots of resources to students renting off campus, including an HSR Bus Pass and the Mohawk Off Campus Society.

All these options have attributes that can be helpful and detrimental to a student’s success. Know what you are capable of and pick the option that best meets your housing needs.
