Thriving in Action: Tuesdays, 1:00-2:30pm

Thriving in Action in Residence: Tuesdays, 7:00-8:30pm

Don’t just survive…thrive!

Are you sometimes disappointed with your academic performance? Are you looking for ways to improve as a student — or in your personal life — so that you can reach your goals? Want to do better, but don’t know where to start?

Thriving in Action is a program that will help you learn to thrive in both your academic and personal life. In this group session, students will meet weekly to learn key skills to increase motivation, optimism, and resilience. You will also be introduced to learning strategies that will improve time management and study skills. It’s not too late to turn things around, and it’s never too late to learn how to flourish!

What you need to know:

  • This is a holistic 10-week program that runs Tuesdays from 1-2:30 pm September 27 to December 6 in-person.
  • Thriving in Action in residence (for students living in residence) runs on Tuesdays from 7-8:30pm in-person.
  • Personal commitment to the program is the strongest predictor of successful outcomes! Be prepared to attend all weeks to get the most out of this meaningful initiative (we understand life happens and you might miss a week).
  • Thriving in Action welcomes all students with a variety of life experiences. This includes (but isn’t limited to):
    • Students accessing Counselling Services
    • Students registered with Accessible Learning Services
    • Students on academic probation
    • Indigenous, 2SLGBTQ+, racialized, and minority students
    • Mature students
    • International students
    • Working students
    • Students raising or caring for families

In other words, if you feel like you’re ready to learn and implement new strategies to thrive personally and academically, we encourage you to sign up by completing the online registration form. Please note, participation in this program will be eligible for the Wellness Advocate CCR.

Presented by Counselling Services and Student Wellness. This program has been adapted with permission from Toronto Metropolitan University's (formerly Ryerson University) ThriveRU.
