MohawkAPPS is the name of a new software application service provided by AppsAnywhere

AppsAnywhere is an easy to use web-based tool which provides access to the software applications you need in college without the need to download them. AppsAnywhere with the help of Cloudpaging lets users access the service from their own computers or from  campus computers.

What is MohawkAPPS?

AppsAnywhere has two parts:

  1. A catalogue of available applications on the MohawkAPPS Apps Software Hub.
  2. Client software Cloudpaging player on the device you choose to use AppsAnywhere.

When you launch any application from MohawkAPPS Software Hub, it gets delivered to the computer you are currently on and Cloudpaging player runs this application as it was installed locally without the need to install it. Cloudpaging Player window will also allow the user to see the progress of the application as its loading.

 

FAQs

What web browsers are supported by AppsAnywhere? 

AppsAnywhere is compatible with all the major web browsers, including Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Apple Safari. All other browsers that conform to the usual web protocols will work, too.

What Software Applications are available? 

Not all Software Applications are available within AppsAnywhere. Software Applications must meet both a licensing criteria and performance criteria to be included. To understand which Software Applications are in AppsAnywhere and which are available on selected College PC's you will reference the Software Master List.

How do I find the software I want to use? 

After logging in to the MohawkAPPS Software Hub, use the search bar located at the top right corner of the page to search for the apps title. If after searching you still can't find the application, please talk to your instructor or contact the IT Service Desk.

How to launch an Application? 

Launch the application by hovering the mouse cursor over the app tiles and clicking on the green launch button.

Why do some applications take longer to launch than others? 

Some very large or complex applications, can take some time (perhaps several minutes) before they are ready to use. This is because the application has to pull down lots of information to the computer you are working on.

The launch time will be much better the second and subsequent times you launch the software on the same computer but each new computer you use will be treated as a first launch and take longer.

The experience will be better on the newer or more powerful computers. Also devices connected to a faster network will download and start applications with less delay.

One of the applications I want to use isn’t working anymore. What should I do? 

If you are unable to launch a previously operational application from your player, right click on it in the player and choose remove then reload it from the MohawkAPPS Software Hub. (Watch the video - How to remove an application)
