Step 1. Discover your Interest

  1. Choose your program in International Student Program List (Check the program availability on the top of the current page)
  2. Find out if you need to study English first in Admissions Requirements
  3. Be financially prepared - Fees and payments information

Step 2. Prepare your Application Package

  • Complete and sign the application form (opens PDF, 290kb)
  • Passport - Picture and address pages
  • Academic documents (exempted for applicants who want to study English only)
    • Translated and notarized transcripts from high school (secondary school) and higher education institute (if applicable)
    • Translated and notarized diploma(s)/degree(s) from high school (secondary school) and higher education institute (if applicable)
    • Official IELTS / TOEFL result or English grade 12 credit from a Canadian secondary school (if applicable)
  • $100 CAD Application Fee (Non-Refundable)

*All in country applicants are required to pay a non-refundable deposit of $1,600 when submitting their application to hold their seat in the program and to confirm their interest in Mohawk College.

Step 3. Submit your Application Package

Additional Information

Application Deadlines

It is highly recommended to apply as early as possible because Visa processing can take a long time. You can find how long it takes to get a Visa (Study Permit) from your country at Visa application processing page (opens new window)

The deadline to submit applications for applicants who are NOT already in Canada are outlined below:

  • September (Fall) Intake: June 15th
  • January (Winter) Intake: November 15th
  • May (Spring) Intake: March 15th

Applicants who are already in Canada can apply up until the start of classes, but should apply early to guarantee a seat in their program of choice.

After You Apply

  1. Your application will be processed by Admissions Officer.
    • Your application and documents will be assessed.
    • Depends on your eligibility, an Acceptance letter or Conditional Acceptance letter will be sent.
    • Upon receiving the letter, make the $1600 seat deposit payment and send us the signed confirmation slip on your acceptance letter to confirm your acceptance.
  2. Attach the immigration copy page of the letter to your study permit/Visa application package (opens new window). Please apply for your study permit/Visa as soon as you can as it can take a minimum of 1-2 months to secure. 
  3. Check the tuition fee deadline and be ready to make a payment to secure your seat for the program.
  4. Upon receiving study permit/Visa, please notify us and start making the necessary travel arrangements. Consider flights, in-country travel to & from your destination, and living accommodations. - Prepare for arrival by CIC (opens new window)
  5. Once you arrive in Canada, certain Assessments may be required depends on your eligibility for the program of choice.
  6. Register for classes. Outstanding documents are due.
  7. Start your Mohawk College journey by attending Orientation. Any remaining fees are due according to your semester start date.

If Your Visa is Denied

If your visa gets denied, there are two options you can consider:

A. Deferral

If you wish to defer your admission to an upcoming intake and receive a new Letter of Acceptance from Mohawk College, please provide the following information through our inquiry form:

  • Applicant's full name, application number and date of birth
  • Preferred intake/start date (Jan, May, Sep)
  • Your program of choice
  • How you would like to receive the offer (by post or email): If by post, please confirm your current mailing address.
