The Application Process for International Students

Students wishing to attend Mohawk College from outside Canada have a number of steps to take. Please review our Before You Apply section before you start this section.

Find everything you need to apply to Mohawk College in this section. Even a small error in your application can create delays, so please follow all the steps below and ensure you supply all requested documentation.

1. Choose Your Program

If you have not looked through our Before You Apply section, it is a good idea to do so now. There you will find information on the many programs available to international students.

2. The Application Form

To apply to Mohawk College, please complete and sign the application form (PDF).

To avoid delays, include all requested documentation, including:

  • A photocopy of the picture and address pages of your passport
  • Translated and notarized transcripts from your high school (secondary school) and higher education institute (if applicable)
  • Translated and notarized diploma(s)/degree(s) from your high school (secondary school) and/or higher education institute (if applicable)
  • Official IELTS / TOEFL result or English grade 12 credit from a Canadian secondary school (if applicable)
  • A non-refundable $100 CAD application fee (See information on how to pay) - can be waived if the applicant is referred by Mohawk College alumni or student.
  • Applicants in Canada ONLY must include:
    • A copy of your valid study permit,
    • Proof of attendance from another institution (LOA and/or transcript), and
    • A non-refundable $2,200 tuition deposit (first semester tuition fee balance to be paid within 20 days of receiving Letter of Acceptance)
  • All of the above documentation should be collected into one PDF file.

Tip: Many Mohawk programs fill quickly, submit your application early to avoid disappointment. We start accepting applications up to one year before program start date and we begin processing offer letters approximately 6-7 months before.

3. Submit Your Application

    • Please ensure all required documents are submitted in one PDF file to the email address shown above.

    4. Application Deadlines

    We are pleased that you are interested in applying to Mohawk College!

    Due to high application volume, we process international applications on a priority basis, with visa processing times, program availability and regional application volumes as key considerations. Applications are also considered based on academic quality of applicants and international student body diversity.

    Applications after these deadlines are considered based on program availability and visa processing times. Please contact your market specialist for information on program availability and application procedure.

    Students who are already in Canada on a valid study permit should contact their market specialist or Mohawk International to determine program availability if they choose to apply after these deadlines.

    Below you will find the application deadlines for each intake that is available.

    *Please Note: Incomplete applications will not be considered. Mohawk reserves the right to limit applications and impose application deadlines by region.

    5. After You Apply

    Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by Mohawk College and you will be notified if you have been accepted, OR accepted with conditions, OR if the program you have selected is full.

    Applicants may be asked to take a math, writing or English language test to ensure your level is appropriate to succeed in the program you have applied for before acceptance can be granted.

    Your Letter of Acceptance (LOA) will be sent through the College’s secure document portal, powered by ApplyProofPlease add the ApplyProof email address (noreply [at] to your email's safe sender list to ensure you receive all messages in a timely manner.
